About the Role
Tycoon Asphalt is a Charlotte-based asphalt paving and pavement preservation contractor. We hire for attitude and work ethic — experience in asphalt, sealcoating, striping, or construction is a bonus. This asphalt equipment operator role reports out of our HQ at 316 Voncannon Dr, Charlotte, NC 28216.
Responsibilities
- Operate pavement equipment including rollers, industrial blowers, crack-fill kettles, and striping machines
- Inspect equipment before and after shifts; report maintenance needs promptly
- Execute prep and application steps to Tycoon’s commercial-grade standards
- Coordinate with crew leads on sequencing, safety, and reopen windows
- Support residential driveways and commercial lots across the Charlotte metro
Requirements
- At least 1 year operating construction or pavement equipment (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Strong safety mindset around traffic, hot materials, and job-site hazards
- Ability to work early starts, overtime during peak season, and occasional nights/weekends
- Reliable transportation to Charlotte HQ
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Nice to Have
- CDL or experience towing equipment trailers
- Prior sealcoating, milling, or striping experience
